Linen Maid RevivalTypography2025
Linen Maid Revival is a revival font based on an illustrated plate from the 1700’s showcasing the most commonly used cross-stitch alphabet at the time. In this project I have digitized the uppercase alphabet, created a new lowercase alphabet, and created new punctuation marks.


After developing the typeface, I set out to make a modern cross-stitch sampler. These samplers served to show off a young girl’s skills. I used this medium to show off the different features of the typeface as well as call back to the history of the hobby. 


The ultimate goal for this project was to show the intersection between craft and design and merge the digital and physical.
